Course Description:
Indian Head Massage is one of the many ancient Ayurveda traditions which have been handed down over thousands of years. It is known as the mother of all holistic therapies for its nurturing and revitalising's effects. The word "Mother" is not lost here since it was the rural women of Indian thousands of years ago who were doing most of the manual labour, which resulted in tight and tense necks and shoulders, aching backs, headaches, strained eyes, worn looking skin and dull hair. These women naturally and instinctually began to massage the backs, necks, shoulders, heads and faces of their fellow women in the evenings.
The results spoke for themselves with women instantly feeling relaxed, releasing and becoming restful. Many woman reported many other health benefits including better digestive functions, clearer vision, better taste awareness, mentally more alert, physically more energized, glowing skin, lush hair and most importantly these women reported feeling emotionally and spiritually calm. Over the centuries this amazing healing art was passed down orally and in time all ages of the community began to benefit from Indian Head Massage.
As part of the programme I will be covering the history, benefits, contra indications, the sequence and rational for each movement while experiencing the power, importance and healing benefits of touch.
The unique selling point of this course is that I have been a body massage therapist since 1993 and have literally had 100's if not 1000's of people through my practice. This has given me endless opportunities to deepen my experience of body massage and to train in Indian head Massage, Ki Massage, Thai Massage and an Aroma therapy. I have created a unique form of Indian Head Massage incorporating the Ancient Ayurvedic methods and many of my own strokes from other methods of massage I trained in.
I believe that a person does not truly relax unless they are lying down on a massage table and for this reason; I created my very own method of delivering Indian head Massage that is simply outstanding in its delivery and in client's responses to the treatment. Clients and graduates have reported feeling wonderfully relaxed, at ease, full of joy and vitality.
