Facilitators: Lyn Lamont and Alicia Ferguson
Lyn and Alicia are experienced and enthusiastic practitioners. They have worked together for over ten years in the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre and also in Action Cancer. Together they have developed and delivered training for the NI Cancer Centre and now are extending their expertise for therapists in other areas.

This practical and interactive 3-day course is intended for qualified Reflexologists who are working in cancer support settings and have knowledge of cancer and its treatments. We aim to;
• Increase your confidence in the decisions you make
• Explore the concept and practical application of Systems Reflexology
• Increase your awareness of safe and best practice being used in cancer care hospitals, hospices and support centres
• Explore Reflexology as Psycho-Social care
• Focus on adapting and utilising a range of self-care techniques that can be used safely for the benefit of clients and yourself
• Explore reflexivity in practice and supervision
• Increase your self-awareness and ability for self-compassionate reflexive practice

You will be asked to keep a reflective journal throughout and share your learning with the tutors and students.

By the end of this course you will have:

Practiced Systems reflexology adapting your techniques to the individual with a history of cancer treatment

Knowledge of reflexology as psycho-social care

Increased self-awareness & skills in managing emotional resilience

Added value to your treatments by helping clients develop self-care skills for managing symptoms

A way of treating your clients and of explaining the benefits, restrictions and choices available

As a key resource you will be provided with "Medicine Hands" by Gayle MacDonald
