NRRI was established in 1998 as a registered non-profit making professional body to regulate the practice of reflexology in Ireland as a complementary therapy, through qualified registered members and affiliated schools.

National Register of Reflexologists - Our Objectives

We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing Ireland with a register of professional Reflexologists and training centres. NRRI Members are accredited as a professional practitioners by IRISH LIFE Health, LAYA-Healthcare, VHI Healthcare and Saturday Hostpital Fund.

The NRRI was established in 1998 as a registered non-profit making professional body to regulate the practice of reflexology in Ireland as a complementary therapy, through qualified registered members (currently about 700 active members) and accredited schools (currently 8 schools).

The practical aims of the NRRI can be summarised as follows:

  • To compile and maintain a National Register and referral list of qualified Reflexologists.
  • To establish the educational criteria necessary to qualify as a professional Reflexologist and maintain continual professional development.
  • To compile and maintain a National Register of accredited Schools of Reflexology.
  • To provide and enforce a Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for the benefit of registered practitioners and their clients.
  • To provide and maintain professional standards of excellence and competence.
  • To provide up to date information on all aspects of Reflexology.
  • To establish research facilities for Reflexology.
  • To provide regular, informative eNewsletter.
  • To facilitate Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance for members.
  • To represent the interests of registered members at national, EU and worldwide levels.
  • To disseminate accurate and up to date information on all aspects of Reflexology to the public, the media, and other interested groups and official bodies.
  • To promote reflexology and support NRRI members via social media (facebook, instagram).
  • To work towards recognition of reflexology as designated therapy as a registered lobbyist to the government and Department of Health.

Registrants are entitled to use the designatory letters MNRRI denoting Member(ship) of the National Register of Reflexologists (Ireland) and to use the title of 'Registered Reflexologist' on their professional letterheads, business cards, and promotional material.

A Certificate of Registration bearing the official Seal is issued to each registered member.

Inclusion on the Register is at the discretion of the Registrar from whom application forms can be obtained and to whom all applications and correspondence should be addressed.

NRRI members listed on our website are accredited by: IRISH LIFE Health, LAYA-Healthcare and VHI Healthcare.

In 2017 NRRI has transformed into DAC Ltd (Designated Activity Company Limited). The BOARD OF DIRECTORS is constantly working together with NRRI Registrar and NRRI Advisory Council (principals of accredited schools) on regulation and recognition of reflexology in Ireland.
