Facial reflexology comes to Salisbury

If you think of reflexology at all, you probably think of feet. Traditional reflexology involves massaging or applying pressure to parts of the feet in an attempt to benefit other parts of the body or one's general health. An alternative therapy, reflexology sometimes doesn't get much respect from the mainstream medical community, but it has many faithful devotees, including plenty of people in Rowan County.

Welcome to our website
NRRI was established in 1998 as a registered non-profit making professional body to regulate the practice of reflexology in Ireland as a complementary therapy, through qualified registered members and accredited schools.

NRRI MEMBERSHIP

There is no prima facie entitlement to membership of the National Register of Reflexologists and the granting of any grade of membership is at the sole discretion of the Registrar and Trustees who reserve the right to decline applications for registration without explanation.

Guidelines regarding eligibility for NRRI registration to be read and implemented in conjunction with the standard application form.

Only students attending diploma courses in reflexology at schools accredited by the National Register of Reflexologists (Ireland) - hereinafter referred to as the NRRI - over eighteen years of age and having paid the current membership fee of 25 euro, are eligible for NRRI student membership.

NRRI Student Members who register for Full Membership within 12 months of their graduation are entitled to a discount of 50% of current registration fee (i.e. 30 euro instead of 60).

Applications for membership will be considered from suitably qualified reflexologists who possess a Practitioner's Diploma or Certificate of Reflexology from a School of Reflexology accredited by the NRRI, or s School of Reflexology accredited by certain other professional bodies or examination boards (subject to individual assessment).

Training in Reflexology must have taken place on a course in Reflexology where Reflexology was the main subject, i.e. not as an integral part of an Aromatherapy course, or Beauty Therapy or Massage course. The course must have been of at least 14 months duration, with the exception of approved full-time courses.

Membership may be granted in individual cases where applicants have been qualified and practising for a prolonged period on the basis of individual merits and an assessment by the NRRI which may involve an interview. In such cases acceptance does not of itself confer approval of any training body, and non-acceptance does not necessarily imply disapproval of any training body.

Cost of joining NRRI in 2009 is 150 euro (60 euro of registration fee and 90 euro of annual membership fee). The granting of membership is for a period of 12 calendar months and is renewable annually at the discretion of the NRRI with the choice of Full Membership (90euro) requiring CPD and insurance or Associate Membership (70 euro).

As the NRRI is an autonomous body, its rules, regulations, conditions of membership, accreditation procedures, and its Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, may be changed at the discretion of the Registrar and Trustees without prior notice.
