Throughout the two days we will cover everything the student needs to know to confidently set up and run their own Parent and Baby reflexology workshop.
This curriculum plan serves as a framework for parent and baby reflexology classes.
The curriculum plan below and assessment criteria are to ensure that the reflexologist is well-trained and experienced in reflexology and working with babies.
What we will cover is:
Section 1: A Recap on the previous baby reflexology training
An Overview of reflexology
Definition and history of reflexology
Benefits of reflexology for babies
Safety and precautions
Hygiene and cleanliness
Contraindications and when not to use reflexology
A review of some Anatomy and physiology
A recap on the reflex points in baby feet
Techniques and tools
Different reflexology techniques
Required materials
Section 2: The Practical Application of setting up a class:
Setting the environment
Creating a soothing atmosphere/ choosing a location
Creating booklets for parents
What to tell parents they need for class
What you need for setting up the class
The structure/ length / timing of the class
The Sharing of Case studies and scenarios
Applying reflexology to different baby situations
Section 3: How and what to Teach Parents:
Effective communication between reflexologist and the parent
Hands-on practice
Learning and practicing basic reflexology techniques on baby dolls
Reflexology for common baby issues that will be taught to parents and why!
Techniques for relief from colic, teething, sleep problems and for calming babies
How to instruct parents
How to teach the techniques and methods- with rhymes, games etc...
Addressing concerns and questions
Section 4: Setting up a mock Practice within the classroom
Each student will set up the room and then host the class teaching fellow students with the baby dolls
Section 5: Assessments
An Evaluation of students; knowledge and practical skills throughout the 2 - day workshop
As part of the assessment criteria of the course each student will have to draw out a plan on how:
they would set up the room, what they would include and why!
Each student will also be assessed on their set up and teaching to fellow students.

Providing certificates and resources for ongoing learning
Opportunities for graduates and marketing ideas

Sinead holds a Diploma in Early Childhood care. She is a qualified reflexologist a member of NRRI and has run a number of successful mother and baby groups in the last 12 months.
