Criteria regarding eligibility
for NRRI Registration & Membership
________________________________________
This document annuls all previous documents relating to criteria for NRRI membership.
The National Register of Reflexologists (Ireland) is an autonomous institution and applications for membership can be declined or accepted without explanation at the discretion of the Trustees and the Registrar.
General guidelines for eligibility:
1. Graduates holding NRRI diplomas are eligible.
2. Graduates awarded diplomas by NRRI accredited schools prior to September 2010 are eligible.
3. Graduates who have been in professional practice for a minimum of five years may be admitted on the basis of an individual assessment at the discretion of the Registrar and/or the Trustees.
4. Discretionary admissions and refusals do not imply accreditation, approval or disapproval of any school or examining body, and do not constitute any precedent.
5. An applicant who does not appear to satisfy the above standard requirements may be offered the option of an assessment consisting of a supervised treatment and a review of diploma course case histories for a fee of €120. These assessments are conducted by NRRI affiliated schools at venues which are arranged according to demand.
6. Full membership is available to registered members who are engaged in professional practice, who have provided evidence of current personal insurance, and who engage in the NRRI programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
7. Full membership confers accreditation by private health insurance providers (VHI, AVIVA and QUINN) and a free listing on the NRRI website for referrals.
8. Associate membership is available to registered members who do not wish to engage in full time professional practice but who like to keep in touch and have an interest in the development of reflexology. Personal insurance and the NRRI programme of continuous professional development are optional.
9. Student membership is available to students attending NRRI accredited schools and studying for the NRRI Diploma in Reflexology.
